Why are these names so formal?
They are the planning system’s own defined terms, not everyday words. A page titled with “cafe” or “Airbnb” would be guessing which defined term your project falls under, and that judgement is exactly what a planner is for.
Why New South Wales only?
NSW publishes a separate land use table for every council, so we can say how much councils differ — which is the useful part. Other states publish one scheme, and those pages are a plain list; they are next.
